       VAN GOGH WEEKLY NEWS 12-06-21

Good Evening Van Gogh Staff and Families,

This is Principal Merloni with our weekly news.   We had 3 confirmed COVID cases last week, besides 4 others that were confirmed over the Thanksgiving break. All close contacts were identified and quarantined.  Please do not send your student to school if they have any of these symptoms:  cough, diarrhea, vomiting, or a fever.  These symptoms may be COVID related and your student should not return to school without a negative COVID test.  We need to continue to be cautious to keep our students, staff, and families healthy.   COVID Testing Team will be here on again on Wednesday.  Our School Site Council will meet on Thursday at 4:00 pm.

Thank you to the 86% of parents that have completed the School Experience Survey!  For those of you that have not, time is running out and we are counting on your response.

Please take 10 minutes to complete the School Experience Survey at:

Each student has been issued a device at school.  In order for those devices to go home parents need to check out their student’s device at:

“Thank you to all the families that donated to our Annual Pledge Drive and to all of our amazing Platinum Business Sponsors! We were able to raise $40,000 for Van Gogh with your generosity! The highest raising class that wins the Science Project Extravaganza issssssssssss Ms Arnone’s Fourth Grade Class!”

A huge thank you to the amazing Pledge Drive Team!

‘Tis the season for our annual PAJAMA DRIVE!  For many years, Van Gogh has partnered with the Foster Children’s Resource Center in Northridge to provide hundreds of brand new pajamas for foster children.  The greatest need is for children’s sizes 8-14.  Donations can be dropped off at the office until December 13th.  Thank you for giving back to the community and for supporting our efforts to help others.

    Enjoy your Sunday evening!

    Ms. Merloni

WE DID IT!  100% of our parents are registered!!

Please label your student's jackets, backpacks, and lunch boxes with their name.  This will help ensure that lost items may be found.  Our collection of unclaimed items grows rapidly and is donated to charity at the end of each month.

    Peanut Policy

Please support us......Due to students with severe peanut allergies, we request that snacks and lunches stay PEANUT FREE!

We would appreciate your support in avoiding sending foods that contain peanuts or any other form of tree nuts, such as sandwich crackers filled with peanut butter, granola bars, and trail mix.

Some healthy & nutritional alternatives include: ham, roast beef, tuna, egg salad, cream cheese and jelly sandwiches, hard-boiled eggs, fruit salad, yogurt & fruit, fruit rollups, apples with caramel, hummus, celery & carrot sticks, animal crackers, popcorn, pudding or Jell-o, and Rice Krispie Treats. Thank you for your cooperation!
